I’m the business and k-12 education reporter for the Columbia Tribune in Columbia, Missouri. This is my second stint at the Tribune. I previously worked as the higher education reporter for the newspaper.

The higher education beat gave me the opportunity to cover the University of Missouri at a pivotal time for the institution. I covered race issues on campus and graduate student benefits at the university — which were among a few subjects that made national headlines.

After my position was eliminated and before returning to the Tribune, I worked at the St. Joseph News Press/FOX 26/NBC21 newsroom in St. Joseph, Missouri — covering the public safety beat. I wrote stories for the web, shot and edited video, wrote scripts for our two television stations and wrote stories for the newspaper.

I graduated from Webster University in May 2014. My time there shaped me into a well-rounded multimedia journalist. My professional newsroom experiences have strengthened my reporting. While I utilize new tools, I don’t forget what journalism is about: journalism informs, leads change and shares stories. I take those responsibilities seriously.
